How much weight did you lose in phase 1 of the Atkins Diet?, It says 5-15 LBS, so I was just wondering if anyone lost that amount, more, or less? (In the first two weeks?)

How much weight can one expect to lose in Phase 1 of the Atkins diet?,
To be honest I would avoid it cause most people I know lost weight initially but have since gained all back and some even more. Refer to low GI and healthy eating plans for life no diets cause they are a fad and will not work forever. Never avoid a food group it doesn't make sense. If a diet has to increase fats to make it interesting it is not sensible.
Here is a lifestyle eating plan that works:
If you want to do this for life you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit.
Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a green tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI yogurt
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - muligrain sandwich w 50g lean meat & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g grilled lean meat w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white omlette with ham and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)
Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. You can do a circuit class but this counts as one weights session. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.
Cardio needs to include running, boxing and spin. If your classes are less than 1 hour top it up with cardio before and after classes. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.
To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 cal and 6 sessions again.

This is highly individual. Some people can lose up to 10lbs, some only 2.
What you're mostly losing the first week is water, due to the lack of carbs (which tend to hold water).
Has anyone done the atkins diet and how much weight did you lose?, I've just started phase 1 of the Atkins diet but need some honest feedback off REAL people who might be doing or have done the diet before, including how much weight lost, side effects (and how you tackled them) and any other issues you'd like to include. my parents decided to do this together, my dad lost 2 stone and my mum lost just over 4 stone and they have eaten more fruit and veg since being on it as they have it with every meal.
They did not have any side effects. Once they found out just what their carb in take was for a day to keep stable and not go over it and gain more weight they have managed to maintain their ideal weight for just over three years now.
They did not fry anything except eggs everything else was grilled oven baked or poached or steamed for veggies.
The only problem they did have was going out to eat as everything came with potatoes or chips so they had to ask not to put them on the plate just extra salad.
Should I be losing more weight on Atkins than I am?, I am 1 week into the induction phase and have only lost 3 lbs. All I eat is meat and cheese. What has been your experience. Will I continue to lose?
A lady at my work is on the atkins and the 1st week she lost 2 pounds and only 1 pound a week for the last 6 weeks. I would rather count calories. All you have to do then is burn more than you eat and not exceed your daily limit. I lost 6 pounds in a week on this diet. good luck 1 pound is better than no pound
Atkins Diet- how much weight loss is expected?!?, Hello, I have started the atkins diet today, SOOO far I am finding it really easy.
Anyway, my question is, how much weight is usually lost in the induction phase during the first 2 weeks?
I usually loose weight very quickly, even on weight watches points program I loose 2kg per week. Although, I am trying atkins for something different as I am finding it difficult to motivate myself at the moment and keep loosing weight and putting it back on as Iv had holidays, birthdays and a nightmare 2 months.
For anyone that wants to know, my current weight is 88.8kg, height 1.7m, and large athletic frame ( built like a bloke). Approx weight loss for the 2 week period strictly sticking to atkins induction program.

It can really vary, depending on your age, your metabolism, how insulin resistant you are, your food choices, how much weight you need to lose etc.
I have been on atkins (phase 1 less than 20 carbs/day) for 5 days. I feel like I am starving...?, I am extremely weak and have no energy. I've tried counting calories before, but it didn't seem to work. While cutting calories I was running and working out 4 days/week. On Atkins I hardly have enough energy to walk up a flight of stairs and def none to work out. Please help! I'm 5'1 140 lbs and gained weight when I had my 2 yr old (can't seem to lose it).
This is normal, you are experiencing carb/sugar withdrawal.
You should be back to normal soon.
Make sure you are eating enough. You should NOT go hungry. It is normal to be hungrier than usualy when starting out, eat to SATISFY your hunger, but not to stuff yourself.
what was ur experiece during phase 1 of atkins diet?, please help me by telling me what u ate and how u felt and how much weight u lost during the first induction stage of atkins...also whats are some suggestions or hints.???
I tried to do it.. but got sick off all the fat and meat.. misses fruit and salad sooo much that i couldn't go on... but it works.
I've started the atkins diet. But i've only eaten foods with NO carbs..will i lose weight fast?, I started atkins and in the induction phase. All the foods i had have 0 carbs in it and they're good, today i ate a pepper stake, a little mozzarella cheese(so good!), and some chicken...and i take diet pills with hoodia in it and most importantly, exercise with slim in 6(i'm on burn it up, and 1 hour workout)..will i lose weight fast...
P.S. I know its not really healthy but i'm trying to lose weight fast..give me info if you can

yes your metabolism probably is good so carb diets are kinda risky if you your metabolism i really fast because you wont have enough calories id just be careful=)

Its an awful diet, I think it is probably the worst I have ever tied. I am now using the GI Diet and losing well with it...80lb in 7 months and still losing well.
