I am 6 months pregnant and cannot handle the pain in my lower back! Any advice?
I am 6 mo. pregnant with my first child and I never experienced a back pain like this before.
I talked to my doctor several times but nothing seems to help.
(to my doc. advice) I tried everything and consistently: swimming, cold patches, heat, acetaminophen (tylenol) drug, different sleeping positions, massages, soft exercises and I still cannot bear the pain. It is indescribable and constant!
I have herniated disc on L4-L5 which hasn't been giving me this much problems before and also I have sharp sciatica pain. My whole lower back feels stiff and extremely painful and I cannot sleep, walk, or get my mind off of it.
I cannot go on for another 3 months of pregnancy with this kind of pain!!! Please tell me if there is ANYTHING else I can do?!?
Why don't you just go to the hospital? If you are in so much pain they can look after you! why suffer when there's no need :)
6 months pregnant and back pain!?
I am 6 months pregnant and have bad lower back pain - right at the tail of my spine (top of my bum). Like a severe pressure there and a pinching sensation, its ok when I am stood up but when I sit down or lie down its so hard to get comfy because of the pressure! It feels burning too from inside. I am having physio but nothing seems to help. Anyone else experienced this?
Yeah, I had something like that around 6 months. I also had sciatic pain when I walked and hip pain which prevented me from lying on my left side. Isn't being pregnant fun? LOL.
While pregnant with twins, (6 months 1 week)- is lower pelvic / uterine pressure and back pain normal?
the pelvic/ uterine pressure and lower abdominal/ back pain that i'm experiencing happens frequently during times of stress and tension, as well as excitement, ( such as to much company at one timeand their children, i seem to become " babysitter". It will also become very uncomfortable to pee.
yes it is normal with 1 so I'd think it would be worse with 2. But call your doc and make sure ok.
Hi everyone i'm 6 weeks pregnant and i have been having some lower back pain or maybe lower back cramps?
is it normal or is it a sign that i will be having a miscarriage. please help me with your answers. i don't want to loose my baby. i have been planning it for the past 5 months.
That's normal, but if you want to be sure, call and speak to a nurse and ask her or go see your doctor. Good luck with your baby!
Is it normal for back pain to start when I'm only 6 1/2 months pregnant?
I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant, and my lower back on the right side has been acting up for the past week now. Is this normal or could something be wrong?
Your 6 and a half months and your just NOW starting to
feel back pain?
That's not normal...that's just plain mean!
I ALWAYS had constant nagging back pain from the very
first month...and it NEVER let up...just got progressively
worse month by month.
There were many times I couldn't straighten up after bending
over....and times when I couldn't get out of bed from the
pain if I fell asleep on my back.
If I never had any back pain until I was 6 and a half months
along??? Well, I don't think I would even open my mouth and
mention it to anyone!
As odd as this may sound, ice packs will actually help the
pain more than heat will. Cold shrinks the capillaries, that
reduces inflammation and THAT reduces pain.
Talk to your ob/gyn and/or mid-wife practitioner. They should
have some suggestions to help.
Good Luck...and Happy Mother's Day!
I'm 6 months pregnant and I'm having tightening pains in my lower back, what could be the cause of this
I'm 6 months pregnant, and I have been getting these tightening and really painful pains that shoot through the lower part of my stomach all the way through my lower back. It usually lasts about 2-4 minutes at the most. I had the first one even before I knew I was pregnant, and I get them every now and then...maybe 3 or 4 times a month. They are really uncomfortable and make me feel like I'm going to throw up (and sometimes I do). Does anyone know what these pains are?
I have a doctors appointment in a week, but I was curious if anyone knew, thanks :)
I assume you have ruled out that these are not false labor pains. If they start coming at "regular" intervals you should not wait to your doctor's appointment to talk to him/her.
Beyond that, my first guess would be "ligament pain." while this can happen at any time during pregnancy, it is especially common at your stage. Your uterine and pelvic ligaments are getting loose in anticipation of the baby moving through the birth canal. This can be uncomfortable and is similar to what you are describing.
Also, backaches get more and more common as you get bigger and bigger, because your center of gravity is getting thrown off by the baby's weight.
In either case, you might want to try getting a pregnancy massage. It can help with ligament pain AND backaches, so you come out ahead either way.
6 months pregnant with bad mid-back pain?
i know when ur pregnant u tend to get lower back pain but my back pain is smack dab in the middle of my back like right on my spine.
Is this normal?
Sounds normal to me. I had to start wearing my bra 24 hours a day cause I am larger breasted and the weight from them started to mess up my back. You may want to try a better support bra as well. Also your body when pregnant goes through some muscle and joint changes to accommodate for your growing belly and the joints will loosen up all over your body making your joints hurt all over the place.
Sharp pain in my lower right side-6 months pregnant?
I could really use some advice, I put a call into my doctor's office and am waiting for a call back but I thought I would also try here. I thought I had what might be some round ligament pain on my lower right side earlier last week but instead of subsiding it has only gotten worse. I thought round ligament pain would be sharp but then ease and this is pain constantly. I can't get comfortable even when lying down and curling up with pillows for support. My belly really isn't that big yet and I'm not sure what could be causing the pain. My DH wondered outloud if it was appendicitis and now I am a little more concerned. Have any of you dealt with this type of pain? It gets worse when I cough or sneeze but it is there all the time. Thank you
Are you nauseous? Fever? That is another sign of appendicitis.
Ligament pain can continue for quite a while-- until those ligaments 'get comfortable' with the weight of your growing uterus.
Is it near your back or is it on your side? If it is in the back, it may be a kidney infection, but you would also have fever.
Try a warm shower/compress while waiting for the call back, but my guess is ligaments, and not something more serious.
