Pain in lower back when breathing

Sharp lower back pain when I breathe in deeply?
I did some skull crusher exercises (where you lie on your back and lift dumbbells using your triceps), then after I got out of the shower I started getting sharp back pains in both side of my lower back when I breathe in deeply.
The pain is around the area where the rib cage ends, but in the back. The pains are like quick shocks and happen when my lungs are pretty much filled with air.
Anyone has an explanation for this?
I would go to your local emergency room. If you're having pains when breathing, this is not a good sign, and needs to have some immediate attention to make sure that you didn't either break a rib, or puncture a lung or the pleural membrane around the lung.
Pain in lower left back, especially when breathing in or moving?
19 weeks pregnant, I am having pain in my lower left back, it's been hurting all day, and it really hurts when I move or breath in deep. I haven't had any other symptoms. Is this just the baby pushing on my stuff in there? I don't think it could be kidney infection, I don't have any other symptoms
That is a VERY common symptom it only gets worse trust me!. especially the bigger you get if it gets to bad your doctor can proscribe you medicine that is safe ,ive known many women who have got the medicine because the pain was to much to handle!. anyways good luck and god bless
Pain when I breathe in lower left back?
When I breathe in deep I have a pain in my lower left back just above my butt. I feels like my diaphragm is pushing against whatever is causing the pain it's like stabbing pain I've had it for about 3 days now.
You have a pinched muscle in your back, that is about the only thing that will give you pain back there. You have to free up the muscles in your back to get rid of the pain and here's how to do that:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
Heartbearn..breathing problems when trying to sleep..lower back pain?
there have been many things going on with me lately
im wondering if they are connected or if there could be a few things wrong with me
i cant get to the doc till feb 9 so im wondering if i should just go to the hospital or if i'll be able to wait.
what's wrong is..
lately ive been having constant heartburn...im not typically a person who ever got heartburn...
I seem to poo a lot..and its always always a dark color now...
I randomly get pains in my right and left lower back..almost feels like muscle pain but i know its not...well i guess it could be but thats been goingon for months...
and the worst of all..when i go to sleep at night...ill start to fall alseep and abruptly wake up with a tickly scratch in my throat and not even chugging water makes it go away...and it causes breathing isssues till i eventually fall asleep....
Wow! You have too much going on. Are you waiting till the 9th so you can see your doctor, or just any doctor? It you're waiting to see your primary doctor, don't. Call and get in ASAP to see any doctor.
Otherwise, if your insurance has Quick Care or Urgent Care (whatever they call it!) go there now. If not, go the the ER if you're so sick you can't go to work or school. Be sure to tell them everything you wrote in your question.
Good luck soon! :)
What would cause pain when inhaling on my lower right back?
Three days ago I started having sharp pain in my lower right back when inhaling. The rest of my lower back hurts as well, but does not have the sharp pains when inhaling. A friend suggested I might have pulled a muscle. I am wondering why this would cause pain when breathing, and what I can do to relieve the pain.
OMG! I am in the bed right now in pain right now looking for advice on my pain also! I hurt my back riding my bike too long. It didn't hurt the same day. I woke up the next morning and could barely get out of bed. The pain is on my right side, in the middle and when I am sitting up breathing, it hurts my chest. My research says that muscles on that side of the body is connected to muscles in the front of your body which can interupt your breathing. So I am taking it easy and resting, using icyhot and advil for the pain. It will take a few days to wear off. There is not much you can do. Good luck!
What is this PAIN in my lower back when I breathe in???
I am having a sharp/shooting pain in my lower back, and it especially hurts when I breathe in deeply.. But when I breathe in normal it doesn't hurt. I don't think it is a pinched nerve, b/c one of the symptoms for that is numbness, and it is not numb... So i don't exactly know what it is. The pain is in my lower left side of my back but I cannot exactly pin point the exact location... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!! ouch =(
Muscle strain. Have you done any physical exercise or work lateley? To help this lie on your back, push your belly button into the ground (figuratively speaking), raise both your knees to your chest and push the small of your back into the floor. THis will help stretch your back. If it persists, i suggest the doctor
Breathing causes lower back pain any idea what it may be?
Whenever in inhale i feel a sharp pain in my middle to lower back. A pain in the back muscles right next to the spine on both sides. It doesnt spread out to my side just the muscles right next to my spine. Any ideas what it may be thats causeing the pain when i inhale?
That does sound unusual. To make sure it isn't the muscles in the back do this exercise. When you are done, it will either tell you that it was the back muscles or it will eliminate them as the problem. It is one of the easiest ways to go in finding out what the real problem is. Here it is:
Place your left hand on your left knee. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg or even over it if you can, the more over the better it is. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.
Sharp breathing pain in my lower back.?
I had surgery about 3 months ago and since then I get this on again off again sharp breathing pain in my lower back. When it comes on it hurts really bad. I have been to 3 different doctors and had a chest x-ray and chest cat-scan done and they don't see anthing. They don't think anythings serious is going on that that it is related to the surgery. They just tell me to take Motrin to make it go away. The pain is not constant, but it has been happening for almost 3 months and when it happens, it hurts really bad. Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so what are your ideas?
